Florence, Italy

Birthplace of the Renaissance movement, Florence is home to a myriad of art galleries and museums, and some of the world’s most renowned works of art, including Michelangelo’s “David.”  From the mid-1200’s to early 1500’s, Florence was unquestionably the most politically, economically, and culturally important city in Europe.  Credited with bringing Europe out of the “Dark Ages,” Florence is also often cited as the birthplace of opera, astronomy (Galileo), and political science (Machiavelli).  Set foot in modern-day Florence and you will instantly feel transported to a different time.  Remarkably, much of the city’s original Renaissance and neo-classical architecture has been preserved, and a stroll through its historic center quickly reveals that the smells and sights of the city haven’t changed much, either – just be mindful of the scooters zooming by!  Tourism is far and away the biggest industry in Florence these days, and, as such, there is a very high demand among locals for quality English language education.  If you are interested in earning your TEFL certificate and teaching English in Italy, inquire with us today for more information!
